Why no ammnesty?

There are good reasons why something needs to be done about illegal immigration.
There is much more to this than racism. It is not racist to not allow people to break into your home. The same follows with a country. Illegal Immigration is causing the increase in crime taxes and security problems in our nation

(May 30, 2007 Senator Mitch McConnell, 4th term Republican from Kentucky. Congress.org)
Nearly Ten thousand American citizens are killed each year by Illegal Aliens! This number is greater than 9/11 & our troops killed combined since 9/11! Tens of thousands more are assaulted and robbed. Illegal aliens account for sixty-five percent of communicable diseases in the United States (2004 numbers). The FBI estimates that 50,000 of the 100,000 gang members in LA county in Calif. Are Illegal Aliens from South of the Border!

Million of Lives are Destroyed by the Estimated 128 Billion of Drugs pouring across our Borders from Mexico each year & thousands of Public Officials are Corrupted by the Vast sums of money Available from the Mexican Drug Cartel!

William Rusher Thursday, June 7, 2007

William Rusher is a Distinguished Fellow of the Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship and Political Philosophy and author of How to Win Arguments.

According to the Heritage Foundation, It turns out that the 4.5 million low-skill immigrant households hauled in an average $19,587 more in benefits and services than they paid out in taxes.

According to the Heritage study, that means that, to American taxpayers, the net cost of low-skill immigrant households over the next 10 years "will approach $1 trillion." (That's "trillion" with a "t" -- 1,000 billions.) That's a lot of money for the American people to shell out to provide businessmen with a huge influx of cheap, largely Mexican labor.

Hugh Hewitt, Thursday, May 24, 2007
Hugh Hewitt is an author, law professor and broadcast journalist. He is the host of the “Hugh Hewitt Show,” broadcast live from Southern California each afternoon. He conceived and hosted the 1996 national PBS series "Searching for God in America." Hewitt is the author of numerous books, most recently

A 2005 report from the Center for Immigration Studies by Janice L. Kephart says that:

Of the 94 foreign-born terrorists who operated in the United States, the study found that about two-thirds (59) committed immigration fraud prior to or in conjunction with taking part in terrorist activity.

In 47 instances, immigration benefits sought or acquired prior to 9/11enabled the terrorists to stay in the United States after 9/11 and continue their terrorist activities. In at least two instances, terrorists were still able to acquire immigration benefits after 9/11.

These statements call for change but not the change that The President and our congress wants.

Why? The reasons are simple. This bill is approaching the problem in the wrong way as well as it is badly written. Consider these comments from Sen. Sessions

Sen. Sessions, Thursday, June 4, 2007
I am deeply concerned about the numerous loopholes we have found in this legislation.  They are more than technical errors, but rather symptoms of a fundamentally flawed piece of legislation that stands no chance of actually fixing our broken immigration system,” Sessions said.  “Many of the loopholes are indicative of a desire not to have the system work.”

Sen. Sessions, Thursday, June 14, 2007
"I can't fathom why they seem so obsessed to ram through this flawed bill that the American people overwhelmingly reject. "While guaranteed expenditures can certainly help with enforcement, it will do little to change the fundamental flaws of this legislation. "The latest Rasmussen poll finds that support for the bill continues to plummet.  Only 20% of the American people support this legislation.  A decent respect for the opinions of our constituents would, I think, compel political leaders to slow down and respond to the public's broad-based concerns. "

This is why I wonder why our President is teaming up the liberal democrats to pass this legislation.

Immigration (please listen congress)

I recently wrote the following letter to our president:

President Bush,

I first want to thank you for what you have done for our nation. For the tax-cuts that have positively affected our economy and family business, and for your commitment in Iraq including the care you have shown for our troops and to our security.

However, their is one thing that I disagree with - the Immigration reform bill. We as Americans do not want people that break into our nation to be rewarded.  Something needs to be done. The borders need to be secured, but the legislation in congress is fundamentally flawed. Please listen to people such as Senator Sessions who are trying to have justice served. We can see from example's. Europe's guest worker programs have serious problems, this can be avoided in our country. Please listen to the American people.

My name is Jonathan Veal. I am 14 and I am very interested in this subject and have always been interested in politics. In fact, my goal is someday to become a senator. This year my debate league, NCFCA. a nation-wide debate league, chose the subject of illegal immigration. And in my research I have begun to see the need for action.

Thank you for your time and I hope this letter sheds light on what the American people want for our great nation.

Jonathan

As I sent the message I wondered would anyone would even read this? And if they do will it change anything. Congress has already ignored  thousands of individuals, grassroots organization and more to resurrect  this dead bill. And as the zombie bill prepares to march through the senate I wonder. Why don't the American people get represented more? Is lobbying the only way to push an agenda? I hope we get an answer. And I hope it is a good one

Jonathan
